Career Opportunities Current Openings: PHP Programmer - The successful candidate will have a proven track record creating and maintaining complex database driven websites using PHP and MySQL in a Linux environment, with a minimum of supervision. This is a telecommute position. You will normally be working from your home office a minimum of normal business hours. You must have a suitable computer and high speed Internet connection. Although this is a telecommute position you will be required to meet with other staff members. In addition on a regular basis (bi-weekly) we bring our staff together to work at the same location. As such you must be located in the greater Chicago area. Qualifications and Requirements: Education/Training: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in information systems or computer science. Experience: Three or more years programming experience. Skills/Abilities: Fluency in English; excellent knowledge of HTML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript; very good knowledge of secure PHP programming techniques. Writing clean, efficient code is a must. Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to comprehend system and application related materials; design and maintain applications using database techniques; communicate with designers, non-technical project managers and end users. Excellent communication skills are required. You must be an individual that pays attention to detail; meets deadlines; and works diligently without moment-to-moment supervision. Direction: Works independently taking into consideration project objectives and priorities. Reports project status accurately and requests clarification when ambiguity or conflicts are found. Utilizes proven techniques and adapts existing algorithms where necessary. Completed work is tested, shown to be compatible with other team member's work, and is delivered in a timely manner. Responsibilities: Creating specifications in conjunction with web designers, designing solutions, coding proof-of-concepts, and writing code for web-based projects. Creating documentation of your work for subsequent use by others. Maintaining existing applications, correcting systems bugs, coding system enhancements, performing database table/code maintenance. Will assist in testing system upgrades; maintains/updates system and user documentation. References are required and will be checked.
